Opened in November 2016, UC San Diego Health's Jacobs Medical Center became the first hospital in the world to equip all 245 of its patient rooms with Beacon Room Control. By pairing with an iPad and Apple TV along with patient control over entertainment, lighting, shading and temperature, Beacon liberates medical staff to focus on care and creates an independent living environment for the patient.
